Under the new Arbitrary Metric banner, Doc Burford, Jessica Harvey and Chris I Brown announced Paratopic: Definitive Cut, coming to Steam on September 6th. After months on itch.io, this version will be packed with tweaks and a “few surprises” that didn’t make it to the initial release.
It’s been several months since the first time we spoke about Paratopic on the site, being only an intriguing low-poly game that was soon to be released on itch.io, but it didn’t take long for it to become a cult urban legend spreading its VHS-esque roots onto hundreds of players, reaching itch.io’s top 5 best rated horror games list.
This Definitive Cut will not only answer some pending questions (at last, getting through that door) but also include new and exciting moments into the narrative, like the possibility of choosing between mayo or ketchup, which will surely make a few mustard purists angry in no time. Or is it the other way around?
We asked Arbitrary Metric about this, and here’s what they had to say on the matter:
this is one of paratopic's many ambiguities https://t.co/dzjMWtc2ot

We also used to have another questions about the game and the development process, but fortunately, we had the opportunity to interview the team back in March to talk about meeting a serial killer, being your own playtester and KMFDM.
It seems like we’ll have to find out by ourselves when Paratopic: Definitive Cut releases in exactly two weeks from now, September 6th on Windows, Mac and Linux. It will be available for $5.49, with the soundtrack available for an additional $3.
Make sure to wishlist the game on Steam and don’t forget to follow the developers on Twitter.
