Dead Cells: Full Release And Physical Editions In August

Along with details about “The Baguette” update.

Motion Twin’s roguelike madness Dead Cells will conclude its Early Access period on August with a full release on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Switch. Along with a partnership with Merge Games, the studio also announced retail editions for PS4 and Switch.

The same publishing indie game company that brought Darkest Dungeon to the physical realm, and is also working on editions for Brawlout and Moonlighter, announced today physical editions for the Playstation 4 and Switch versions of Dead Cells. As stated by the developers on Twitter, there aren’t any current plans on doing a retail edition for Xbox One.

Early Access’ conclusion will come with The Baguette Update, the latest big update aimed to be released on August. It will include, along with legendary item drops, new ways to customize items and a revamped UI, a major rework to the core game, doing a complete overhaul of the item upgrade system “The Forge”.

With the seventh update rolling out on Early Access, Dead Cells is very close to being content complete, the lore being the last piece of the puzzle we’re working on for launch day. Although version 1.0 definitely won’t be the end, as we’ve already promised one major free DLC to the community that made all of this possible”, Steve Filby said, Producer at Motion Twin.

Over 700,000 copies of Dead Cells were released on Steam, and it’s also available on GOG, for $19.99 USD. The devs have stated that the game will likely have another price increase before full release, after the first one on January, which went from $16.99 USD to the actual price.

Make sure to visit the official site for more information, and don’t forget to follow the developers on Twitter for the latest news. As for me, I can’t wait to finally get to play Dead Cells on the go.
