Dotemu, Lizardcube, Guard Crush Games and SEGA revealed Streets of Rage 4 to the world, featuring a whole new story mode, a fresh visual style and a new take on the beat ’em up classic formula.
No, we can’t believe it either, but it’s real. From the developers behind Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap, Windjammers, Streets of Fury and more comes a follow-up entry in the series, featuring Axel and Blaze once more in an enhanced classic gameplay with new mechanics yet to be revealed. Fortunately, both the enemies and movements that are carved in our memories are still intact.
The new art style is following what we saw in the latest Wonder Boy, and the character models are as gorgeous as ever, but it’s in the landscapes and scenery that the game seems to truly shine.
We can’t do nothing but speculate at the moment (aside from clearing the dust off your Genesis) while we wait for a release date announcement and, hopefully, details about the consoles that can expect the game.
