Devil May Cry 5 Releases March 8, Gameplay And Story Details Revealed

Capcom announced Devil May Cry 5 is coming for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on March 8th, right after releasing a new gameplay video directly from the demo being showcased at Gamescom.

Nero’s arm has been improved in a number of ways, and while there is a familiarity in his movements, it seems like there has been a lot of work put into the combay system throughout these past years in development. Being able to ride his arm on mid-air, dealing powerful finishing blows and listening to the good old constant foolery with enemies are only a few aspects seen in the trailer.

There’s also an extense 15 minute gameplay video from the demo available at Gamescom, but along with the basics of combat in a tutorial of sorts, it finishes with the fight against the giant demon you can see in the trailer. Dante has a short appearing in the end, and against all odds, now he’s using a motorcycle as a weapon. Oh, and those grim-reaper looking enemies carrying giant scissors? They’re fucking terrifying.

Devil May Cry 5 takes place in Red Grave City, a perfect place for yet another demonic invasion due to a demon tree’s seeds taking root on the streets. Apparently, Nero’s arm from the previous game, ‘Devil Bringer’, has been taken away from him. Thankfully his new partner Nico designed new prosthetic weapons for Nero: the Overture Devil Breaker is perfect to shock enemies that get too close for their own good, while the Gerbera Devil Breaker can generate shock waves to reflect enemy projectiles, propel the wielder through the air and much more.

While I try my best to avoid falling into the loop of listening ‘Devil Trigger’ over and over for the rest of the day, make sure to visit the official site for more information and don’t forget to give Capcom a follow on Twitter for the latest news.
