The Spanish developers from Crema Games announced that Immortal Redneck is coming to Switch on May 10, after being released on Steam, Playstation 4 and Xbox One. This action packed blend of FPS with roguelike elements will be available for $19.99 USD, with support for English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Polish, and Korean languages.
A redneck tourist gets stranded in a procedurally generated take of Ancient Egypt, waking up mummified and forced to wield over 50 weapons to battle his way through hordes of different enemies and bosses. Living up to its roguelike elements, each death grants players the possibility of upgrading stats in skill trees, unlocking up to 9 different classes with unique active and passive abilities, and using scrolls that can shape the following run in both positive and negative ways.
For example, the Troll’s Foot scroll can be a blessing since it provided immunity to standing in lava and acid, but draw a negative scroll like Caution, Wet Floor, and the Redneck will continuously slide everywhere forever unable to stop. As for the rest of the classes, these are all mythical egyptian characters: Thoth, the God of Knowledge, Hathor, Goddess of Mining and Seth, God of chaos and storms are only a few of the ones available. They all differentiate due an default loadout for each: two abilities, three unique weapons and different states, covering life, defense, attack, speed, and both damage and chances of dealing a critical attack.
Immortal Redneck was first released on April 25, 2017 for Steam users, with ports for Playstation and Xbox launched in the following months. Make sure to visit the official site for more information and, as always, don’t forget to follow the studio on Twitter for the latest news.
