Reigns: Her Majesty Gets 200 New Cards in Free ‘Transformation’ Update

The indie game studio Nerial and the sadistic folks at Devolver Digital announced the free Transformation update for Reigns: Her Majesty, adding 200 new cards with new characters, terrible outcomes for your kingdom, and much more.

From only a few cards included in the press release, I was able to witness the Mistress Chrysoponeia saying she can turn lead into gold, a princess named Petra who seems obsessed with fixing our hair and two new endings: one has you cleaning the palace prisons for eternity as a punishment, while the other contemplates the main character going on a exile with their loved one, until they inevitably meet their demise after decades of hunger, boredom and quarrels. Oh, and there’s a frog, too.

Reigns: Her Majesty is the sequel to the original, not-a-dating-app modern classic Regins, that had you following the bloodline of a royale family through countless generations by swiping different cards left or right to make your choices and advance through the game.

This follow up was released on last December on PC (Windows, Mac, Linux), Android and iOS devices, but if that wasn’t enough, the developers announced Reigns: Kings and Queens for Switch, a double sized package containing both games, coming Summer 2018.

To celebrate the new content, Reigns: Her Majesty is on sale in the App Store, Google Play (both -33% discount) and Steam (-50% discount). Make sure to visit the official site for more information, and don’t forget to follow both the developers and Devolver Digital on Twitter.
