Cultist Simulator Shares New Insight On Expeditions

Ahead of the official release on May 31st.

Cultist Simulator, the upcoming mix between deckbuilding and obscure narrative from Weather Factory shared some insights about Expeditions, one of the core elements in the game. Also, the developers announced they’ll be hosting an AMA on their Discord channel on May 8th.

If you haven’t been notified of the cult yet, we are here to lecture you with our Let’s Talk About and an interview with the lovely folks behind the studio. In short, you start yourself with a mysterious empty board and only a handful of cards. The story starts from there, leading to decisions, jobs and sickness. Perhaps you even get the chance of building your own cult and sacrificing your loved ones to summon old gods. Yeah, the game has that.

In their latest update focusing on the current month, which is also the period before the official release on May 31, Alexis shared a bit more info about Expeditions. This mechanic will let people travel around the world to broad their horizons and get even more recruits for your insane plans.

These are the following: St Agnes Hospital (found in: the Capital), Keglin’s Scratch (found in: the Shires), The Unnumbered Stones (found in: the Continent), Foxlily Meadows (found in: the Land Beyond the Forest), Snow’s Keeper (found in: the Rending Mountains), Star-Shattered Fane (found in: the Lone and Level Sands) and Port Noon, the Evening Isles.

Also, for those who went for the physical rewards during the Kickstarter campaign, the devs announced they will be start shipping them soon. They include grimoir USBs containing Alexis’s design notes, and “a MYSTERIOUS THING”. At this point, I’m affraid to ask what it is.

Cultist Simulator will be available on Thursday 31st May 2018 at 7PM London-time / 11AM Pacific-time for PC. You can already wishlist the game on Steam, Humble Bundle and GOG, and make sure to follow the studio on Twitter and check out the official site for more information.
